Consumer Electronics and Lodging
The role of consumer electronics in the proliferation of lodging enterprises cannot be overlooked. In fact, many of the furnishings found inside and outside accommodations are electronic devices that promote convenience and comfort.
The application of consumer electronics intended for entertainment purposes has bypassed regional, national, and international borders. This is evidenced by the widespread availability of cable televisions, video players, music players, and Internet connectivity inside most of the hospitality establishments. To a large extent, it is standard operating procedure for lodging operators to provide most if not all of these common gadgets as part of the accommodation package. Consumer electronic devices are some of the things that modern men cannot seem to live without, whether they are at home or miles away. Thus, for travellers, it is generally a must to have them in their “home away from home.”
