If you are planning for a vacation with your whole family and you will be out for a couple of days or week, it is important that you prepare your home while you are away. Here are some helpful tips on to protect your home from intruders.

  • Have a trusted person look after your house. Example your neighbour, a family member or a friend.
  • Check your kitchen and refrigerator for foods inside that may possible spoil given the time you will be away from home. Example dairy products, meat, fruits and vegetables.
  • Unplug all electronic appliances such as oven toaster, television, and computer.
  • Keep your jewellery and other valuables in a safety box and put it in a safe place where thieves would not waste time in searching.
