Thoughts on Destination Spas
If you are especially fond of spas, consider staying at a destination spa, a residential or lodging facility that offers health-related services. These facilities are generally situated in spa towns or exotic locations near natural hot springs or sources of mineral water. These bodies of water are long believed to have therapeutic properties. In fact, the oldest hotel in the world, which was founded in Japan for more than 1,000 years, has a hot spring bath.
Destination spas exist to help patrons develop healthy habits. Guests often undertake a seven-day program that includes spa services, fitness activities, wellness education, and healthy cuisine. Instead of visiting for treatment or having pure vacation, guests would reside and join in the program.
